Hi, I’m Mark 

Together, we can build creative, collaborative, and cohesive teams.

Dr. Mark Shinar earned his BA from Yeshiva University with an English Literature and Theater degree. Mark also completed a Masters degree in Private School Administration from Columbia University Teachers’ College. He taught General Studies and English Literature in SAR Academy’s elementary and middle schools. In 2003, he became Head of School at Oakland Hebrew Day School in Oakland, CA, where he also earned an Ed. D in School Leadership from Mills College. Mark’s dissertation was on using fiction and narrative for educational leadership preparation.

Mark returned to NY in 2009 to serve as the Director of General Studies at SAR High School. In 2017, he and his family moved to Israel where he was the founding principal of an independent, elementary school. Before opening Mark Shinar Consulting, Mark was the Head of School at JNF-USA’s Alexander Muss High School.
